** Sorry I haven't posted the last two weeks. I've just been really busy. Timeless (9b/?) by Elisa P. Black Scully had to wonder what Mulder had in mind for today. Then again, she had to wonder that just about every day. Mulder gave her an inscrutable smile as he drove them heck knows where after breakfast at the hotel. A few blocks more and they parked by the hospital. Scully had to marvel at Mulder's photographic memory; one ride to this place and he'd already memorized the route. But what did Mulder hope to find out here? Why couldn't they do normal stuff for once like tour the city? She sighed and followed him into the hospital. Mulder marched right in to Myra's room. "Hello, Mrs. Schanke. My name is Fox Mulder and this is Dana Scully. We're with the FBI." "Um, hello. Isn't the FBI supposed to be in the US?" Scully tried to keep her eyebrows from rising as Mulder simply parked himself in a chair by the window and smiled politely. Myra looked at her in confusion and she could do nothing but smile. She tried to think of something to say since Mulder obviously wasn't saying anything more. "Yes, ma'am, it is. We're not here on official business, however. I'm a friend of Natalie Lambert and we're up here for a conference." "Oh, well, nice to meet--" Myra was interrupted when Schanke burst into the room with Jenny trailing behind. "Hon, you look so much better now! How are you feeling?" He kissed her cheek. "A little sore and weak, but otherwise, just fine," she smiled. Schanke suddenly noticed the FBI agents. "Hi." Scully gave him a smile but noticed that Mulder's attention was focused intently on Jenny as she ran over to hug her mother. What could he be thinking of, she wondered. End of Part 9b
